Bruxelles sprouts tarte tatin

  • 250 g puff pastry, ready to use
  • 350 g Bruxelles sprouts
  • 2 tbsp olive oil, extravirgin
  • fresh thyme leaves
  • 2 tbsp of balsamic vinegar syrup
  • 1 teaspoon of honey
  • salt
  1. Remove bruxelles sprouts external leaves .
  2. In a large pan heat 2 tbsp olive oil add fresh thyme leaves and bruxelles sprouts cut into half.
  3. Sautè bruxelles sprouts for 15 minutes, until tender.
  4. Season with balsamic vinegar syrup,add honey to help with the caramelization process.
  5. Salt and arrange the bruxelles sprouts on the bottom of the cake pan with the cut side down.
  6. Preheat the oven at 200 °C.
  7. Roll out the puff pastry over the bruxelles sprouts, fix the pastry allover the pan's border.
  8. Prick pastry with fork and put the tatin in the oven.
  9. Cook for 35 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Let it cool for ten minutes . Put a large plate upside down on top of the skillet.Press the plate down and quickly flip the whole thing so the skillet is upside down and the plate is on the bottom.
